{nod} When I think about it, blanket permission statements are a relatively recent phenomenon, too. I remember back when I started recording, I had to ask every author, and it didn't seem like much of a bother then. It's just that now, between recording so much that I've trampled my to do list flat and having gotten used to blanket permissions, it feels easier.
